Well, he was born next to a nuclear power plant, has an IQ of 2 and got hit in the head with several rocks as a child but boy, can this guy design gloves.

How many appendages do your hands have? Four, it’s definitely 4. At least that must be what the East German who designed these gloves thought. We think the radiation from Chernobyl may have drifted west a bit. They’re made with an uncannily similar thick canvas fabric to most everything else in this pattern, and while that almost guarantees their durability, they’re definitely not the most dextrous gloves in the world. Still, if you want to cosplay combloc battle toads there’s not many better ways to do it.

Features

  • Separate thumb, index and middle fingers
  • Suede textured palm
  • Light polyester lining
  • Thick canvas construction

Sizing

We've roughly translated the combloc glove sizing system to US sizes- these are pretty generous for fit so go with what is closest to your glove size.

Condition

Gloves are in like-new condition, but are a touch stiff from being in storage since before the fall of the Berlin Wall. We recommend wearing your gloves in, and hitting them with a conditioner to break in the glove.

One size fits...some?

Definitely very stiff as described, so be sure to heed that warning. The middle and index fingers are about the same length, which may be good for some people, but my index finger is slightly shorter. So there's a lot of extra room in hat finger, which does not help with dexterity. That's more of a complaint for the DDR govt, but I don't think they'd be very receptive nowadays. The inner lining is quite nice, very soft and fairly warm.

Definitely had a very "fragrant" surplus smell initially, but overall they seemed to be basically unissued.

Very interesting gloves

Bought my pair as a size 2/medium. They were quite tough, though my example was quite stiff like many others'. Mine were also mismatched in terms of colors, as one glove's palm was green, while the other was more tan-green, but the price was good so I can't complain too much. Nonetheless, they would serve very well as motorcycle gauntlets and light winter gloves.

Nice blast from the past

Very good quality, I was expecting them to not do a very good job at keeping my hands warm but they work really well. The only issue is that they are pretty stiff when I first got them but you just gotta wear them a lot and they will break in somewhat quickly.

Toy O'Tæ mon Toy Oh'Da La

Suffer from severe Dupytrens Contracture. Was seriously looking for something to modify so I could use gym equipment. Saw these and well, Let's just say...

They crushed it!

Though, don't skip leg day and force it. Force it.

Cheers.

The wall is gone but the gloves persist

Solid purchase. Great shape despite their age. Buy with confidence.
