The flat, rectangular scarf is objectively inferior in every way to the tube. Your friends will point and laugh at your cold neck as your sorry excuse for a rectangle fails to perform the job of keeping you warm, sliding out of place every time you move.
The tube, however…
The tube is glorious. The tube is comfort. The tube is toasty warmth delivered exactly how you need it. Once you go tube, you'll never go back, because the tube is more than a flat rectangle. It's a balaclava, it's a neck warmer, and it's everything in between. It covers your ears, it covers your nose — it covers the gaping hole in your heart from the lie that is a life filled with moral decay.

I have some ex-DDR NVA stuff I got during the, uh, erm, "fire sale" there in the 90s. Like '90, '91.
So, for instance, I've got some Kampfanzug 64 aka. Strichtarn clothes/jackets and gear, and also several wunderschoen acrylic balaclavas or open-face ski-mask things. But I didn't have a scarf. Now I do! Product arrived very quickly and in basically new old stock condition. It's the sort of tube that can be doubled into an ear warmer beanie, or tucked and folded into various shapes, or worn as a very thick scarf, or as a scarf that also conceal's the wearer's lower face. In extreme weather events, I suppose it could be worn completely over the face as a face warming blind fold, although then the wearer couldn't see. I'll look forward to warding off chills with this thing.

It's a little tight and long but I have a big head and short neck 😅.
Also a little scratchy but that could be subjective.
But it's very well made and all in all definitely worth the price
