Condition & Date Guide

Issued to the Bundeswehr (the unified armed forces of Germany), this parka sports flecktarn, a camouflage developed from a long line of ancestors dating back to just before WWII.

Many agree flecktarn is one of the best camouflages to wear both in and out of the field (unless you live in Germany.)

Fleck Parkas are about more than just looks. Water resistant fabric, plenty of pocket space, and a cut built for retaining agility while keeping yourself covered. There are even zippers at the armpits for cooling off the body or warming your hands. The Germans have well mastered parka engineering.

If there was a degree in Flecktarn, we’d hang ours on the wall. Warehouse Ivan spent hours sorting, studying, analyzing, and researching the fleck-info barren internet. He has found the way: the true method to sort Flecktarn surplus, and the most comprehensive understanding he is aware of. (fun infographic in process)

          New means new

Blown away by the quality and the colors of the new, still packaged flecktarn parkas. I have a previously issued flecktarn to compare it to, and while quality is the same, there's something special about a brand new jacket with a manufacture date in the 90s.

          THE LEGEND

I've been mulling over this purchase for a year but I finally gave in and bought it. I couldn't be more satisfied. If you take the time to measure your chest and height and buy the correct size the parka will fit well (I'm 5'9 with a 41" chest and bought Gr.03). There's room for a liner or sweater underneath but it isn't excessively baggy when worn with just a t-shirt. The flecktarn pattern is aesthetically pleasing with a bonus of invoking subconscious memories of pea dot in all who see you. The drawstrings located in the hood, waist, and bottom of the jacket let you create a tight fit if you choose to. This jacket is exactly what you expect. If you are on the fence, now is the time to buy it before prices increase any more.

(If you like almonds the grads come full to the brim. None of that half-full bullshit. I haven't tried them yet because I only have one pack and I'm saving them for a special occasion.)
