The Complete Package.

Only the KS Sport mockbas will feature our markings - we comissioned a totally bespoke outsole inspired by the original shoes with high quality emblems on the bottom and sides of the shoe.

The result of all the details & upgrades are a pair of shoes that go far beyond "Costume" use. You can slav squat or run ops in them all day long without hurting a collectible original (or your wallet).

How This Russian "Knockoff" Became a Cult Classic

Watch It On YouTube

Kicking Things Off...

Sometimes all it takes is an iconic photo or a scene in a movie to lead your Imagination into wild new territories. As the great Jeremy Clarkson once said, "I went on the internet, and I found THIS."

This image of a man in tiger-striped camouflage doing a flying karate-kick into a door in a derelict building sparked our interest many years ago. It's been posted all over forums and imageboards, even inspiring some to re-create it...

The convorsation online naturally became centered around the shoes. They were quickly written off as just another pair of adidas, known to be coveted by slavs everywhere.

We started digging For the Truth.
It got weird.

It's "Reps" All the Way Down.

We were fooled. These aren't Adidas at all, but that was just the beginning. Enter the "Mockba" Sneaker.

In English, it's pronounced "Moskva", which is Moscow. It just so happens that the shoes have an accidental joke when you read the Cyrillic in English, that they're "Mocking" the originals.

Designed after you-know-whos best-selling silhouette, they were a licensing deal that Russia officially made with adidas, gone horrifically wrong, and spurring on a massive amount of knockoff "Abibas" and "Odidos".

An Olympic-Sized Love Affair

The 1980s Olympics in Moscow were a massive turning point in USSR history, a make-or-break event to prove to the world that they could be on top.

In the modern age, the Olympics have been a great coming together of nations to participate in sportsmanlike competition, but many also saw it as prime geopolitical platforms to display their superiority.

The Kremlin had big plans. A national phenomenon resulted...

The Birth of the Gopnik Aesthetic

From Track & Field to Battlefield

With reps in the market a-plenty thanks to the USSR's faltering economy but continued love affair for the three stripes, they ended up all kinds of places cheap footwear do.

Russia had a problem with letting their old stuff go. Just look at the Kalashnikov. The occupation of Afghanistan involved a lot more mobility than the stuffy & tall boots of the Russian military could handle.

So, soldiers did what soldiers do, tossed their issued gear aside as soon as they could replace it with something cheap and reliable. Mockbas, real Adidas, and even the odd pair of bootlegged Nikes made it onto the feet of even Russia's Elite troops.

Shoes Of The Spetsnaz

The most mobile troops of all were the special forces, and they decided to completely ditch boots all together.

Cheap & practically disposable tennis shoes were way more comfortable and agile.

Like many fighting forces of the 60s-80s, photos would emerge of the toughest men on the planet bearing their uniforms & kit, their trusty rifle, and off-the-shelf tennis shoes on their feet. Just look at the Bata Takkies for another example.

The troops went for Adidas and Mockbas as familiar, reliable, and frankly, cool options to ditch their Great-Patriotic-Era boots...

It's obvious: "rule of cool" wins every time, even if it doesn't win you a claim to the unclaimable territories of the Hindu-Kush mountains...

Very good

They go great with my balaclava, ak, and track pants. They provide just the right support to help stay perfectly ballanced (as all things should be) when slav squatting.

So nice I'll buy em twice

Very comfortable (I've worn boots the last 6 years)

Comes with the laces barred (based) and they pair well with the Cheeki breeki and sanctioned vodka

Soles pick up any hint of dust / dirt. so if you don't like dirty shoes sorry bud. I fit 10's so I got 10.5 and they are comfy.

One fail point in glue, common area when foot is creased. I wear these to work so I'm chalking it up as normal wear.
