Rainbow 6 Siege fans rejoice, this latest batch of police surplus had two, count it two, ballistic shields. Manufactured by Protech, these ballistic shields are not normally available to the public, which makes this an especially rare find. Protech has been in the business of equipping law enforcement agencies since the late 80’s with a variety of equipment from ballistic shields and vests to night vision. The PVS14’s in the cop cars are free, you paid for them…

Even though they are level IIIA rated with the manufactured dates of 1990 and 2002 respectively we can’t guarantee that they'll be good for anything beyond display purposes. However, they should stand up to your average riot situation just fine with the bonus of them having some ballistic protection as well. Even then they make a great centerpiece to your range kit if there’s ever some questionable rounds being fired down range. SLAP rounds anyone?

Entry One

  • 21in wide x 34in tall
  • 4 inch wide by 15 inch ballistic viewport
  • Light System (Non Functioning, needs battery)

NATO Enhanced Type 2 (48x26)

  • 26 inch wide x 48 inch tall
  • 2 inch by 15 inch ballistic viewport
  • Extended Corners

Condition

Shields are in good condition, but have definitely seen use. The NATO Enhanced Type 2 needs a screw replaced for the grab handle (seen in the last picture), and comes without the harness system.

Ballistic shield

It's big. It's beefy. It's bulletproof. While a little rough around the edges (literally) and have yet to sort out whether the light works, I can't complain too much (it IS used, after all). A legit certified piece of LE equipment and history rolled into one. No regrets here! May update when I find out about the light, but either way worth the investment
