Presenting a very limited supply (seriously, get one quick if you’re interested!) straight out of law-enforcement history, the PR24-AL was invented in 1972 by Monadnock Lifetime Products.

It was first issued to the New Hampshire State Police, soon spreading to law enforcement departments and private security officers nationwide. Widely lauded for its versatile offensive and defensive abilities, it became an essential component of late 20th-century riot officer gear, reaching widespread audiences in the infamous March 3, 1991 arrest of Rodney King. Extensive training programs capitalized on the weapon’s potential for control holds, it’s most commended feature (the titular PR intended to mean “Protect and Restraint”). Able to block attacks from the front and rear, its side handle allowing both hand-guard protection and restraint takedowns, it’s very much still a baton - fit for chops and jabs.

Generation

New Gen: One of the latest versions of the Monadnock baton, including side handle.

STOP RESISTING

Got it fast and it’s in great condition. Signs of use and wear on it make it feel authentic. Had initials monogrammed on it, so hopefully I can carry on the legacy that comes with it.

PR-24

Before this hit the site I didn't know collapsible versions of the PR-24 were even a thing. All the heft of the standard model with most of the ease of carry of the collapsible steel batons you've probably seen elsewhere. Definitely not a cheap knock off, this is the real deal. Worth picking up if these ever return.

EXPAND BATON

Solid piece of hardware. Not very heavy, and feels good in the hand. Makes satisfying WHOOSH when you swing it around. Would not want to be on the receiving end.

Mine came with a cracked and somewhat dry o-ring, and while it's not the most crucial component, I could not find any documentation online for it amongst all the spare PR-24 parts. For anyone who wants to replace theirs, by my best measurements I believe it is a size 213 o-ring.
