Servis Cheetah High Top Sneakers

Unassuming Excellence
One of the most popular shoes in Afghanistan, the Servis Cheetah was unexpectedly renowned as staple footwear for mountain warfare — But why?
They’re comfortable, have good ankle support and they're cheap to replace too.
With Servis HQ right next door in Pakistan, bulk shoes were easy to come by, and their high-quality construction and athleticism was a bonus too.
It became known as a sneaker so intrinsically tied to wartime Afghanistan, it's been the subject of viral attention ever since a few western stores started stocking them on their shelves, us included.
With it's looks that embody a time capsule of 2000s shoe design, and its ties to legitimate warfighting in Afghanistan, it's cemented a legendary status on our store.

Warfighting Heritage
The sneakers went on to be as ubiquitous as combat boots — proving to be just as popular with the Afghan citizens as the Afghan Security Forces, both on and off duty.
ISAF personnel from the west would encounter the cheetahs and other cultural artifacts in bazaars and bring them back, cementing them as Afghan Unobtanium collectibles much like the famous war rugs.
inside Afghanistan, as one NYT article reports, they're a "status symbol worn by warfighters" including the Afghan security forces that also took a liking to them.

But is the quality any good?
While durability and sneakers are typically something that don’t go hand in hand, the Servis Cheetahs buck that trend entirely.
Reputation only brings a pair of shoes so far — any sneakerhead among you is going to want to look for finer details.
Allegedly lasting up to a year of beatings in the Hindu-Kush Mountain region this shoe can handle the mileage with minimal maintenance.
Unlike pretty much every option available from popular footwear brands, they’re not made in China, and don’t cut corners in the name of profit.
They're less than Jordans on StockX with just as much history behind them and at less of a hit to your wallet. Even Altama CQB gooner bros punch the air at this cold hard truth.

“Forever War” story short...
They’re tactically stylish and perfect for daily wear too.
The next time you show up to your local USPSA open match, dressed to the nines in signature Khyber Pass fashion, these shoes will give you +5 in movement but -10 in accuracy.
Underfolder and Scavenged PVS-31s not included.
