GAZ, a large automobile manufacturer from the Soviet Union, owes its initial existence to the United States. During the Lend-Lease act, they entered in a partnership with ford to build a large family of engines, chassis, and entire vehicles for the military. In other words, they copied our homework but to great success. Many Russian military vehicles on the road today still rely on GAZ powerplants that haven't been touched since the 60s, with Ford DNA throughout.

That original "definitely not ford" logo laid mostly untouched for decades likely as a nod to our partnership with them, even though our national relations did sour a bit.

But in the spirit of the iconic "Ford Dad Hat" that's become a staple of countless American grease monkeys, back-alley beer sippers, and truckers, we've made a GAZ hat with the same vibe. Hopefully we can be friends again one day...
