The thermal layers use a simple numbering system based on your weight for sizing, but we've gone ahead and measured the chest (or waist) and length instead for your convenience.
Shirts - remember, garment is stretchy!
Size Number | Weight (kg) | Chest Circumference | Overall Length |
4 | 60-70 | 98 cm (38.5 in) | 65 cm (25.5 in) |
5 | 70-80 | 102 cm (40 in) | 65 cm (25.5 in) |
6 | 80-90 | 114 cm (45 in) | 70 cm (27.5 in) |
7 | 95-110 | 118 cm (45.5 in) | 72 cm (28 in) |
Pants - remember, garment is stretchy. The 'rise' is relatively tall for ease of movement, inseams are effectively longer so we've added overall length for you to compare to your pants.
Size Number | Weight (kg) | Belt Width Without Tension (x2) | Inseam | Overall Length |
4 | 60-70 | 33 cm (13 in) | 64 cm (25 in) | 95 cm 37 in |
5 | 70-80 | 36 cm (14 in) | 64 cm (25 in) | 95 cm 37 in |
6 | 80-90 | 39 cm (15 in) | 70 cm (27.5 in) | 105 cm 41 in |
7 | 95-110 | 42 cm (16.5 in) | 70 cm (27.5 in) | 105 cm 41 in |
Here in America, the word "Thermal" attached to clothing usually makes you picture merino wool, thick-knit cotton or the classic USGI henley. But commonly in Europe & other countries across the pond, there's an alternative that may seem totally backwards at first.
The mesh insulative layer is a genius abuse of one of the most underrated insulating elements of all - Air. by generating air pockets between you and your outerwear, the mesh actually insulates you surprisingly well. The "air pocket" principle is used in many "puff" jackets on the market that allow small amounts of air through the jacket's inner and outer shell, but much more slowly. And unlike some materials that claim to be "breathable", the mesh allows much more air to pass through when you need to cool off.
So what's the application? Any day that fluctuates in temperature quite a bit, where you'd want both insulation and decent breathability, the Mesh is perfectly suited for the job.
If you're down to try the Freddie Mercury-esque solution to your insulation woes, this might just fit the bill.
