That mystery ranch bag is Brilliant, but we like THIS.

It's not often that we get to say we have surplus gear that seriously competes with readily available gear on the firsthand market, but here we are. This fully-featured pack comes with just about every modern amenity you can think of and is stacked with clever engineering.

Starting from the lid, the lid itself is a height-adjustable "topper" to the rest of the system with an interior mesh pocket, exterior pocket, and a pass-through for taller objects. It also features non-slip D-Rings for attaching even more goodies on the outside.

The main body of the pack is a classic "cinch top" design with a front-entry zipper much like many contemporary military packs from the likes of Crossfire or Mystery Ranch. On the sides, pleated, expandable side pockets lay flat when they're empty and greatly expand when fully stuffed. The interior features a standard water bladder pouch with a hanger and of course routing for the tube so you can suck down NUUNs like a white girl with boxed wine at Coachella. Like many military packs, the load can be cinched down from the outside using extra webbing and ultra-tough buckles. On the sides are elastic pockets for taller items like hatchets that you want outside the bag but still secured with the straps — a nice touch even though you're certainly not starved for space here.

Moving down to the separated bottom pocket, yes bottom pocket, there's an area to stuff a sleeping bag/extra tarps or anything else you want to separate from the main pocket. It can also be un-zipped to make the whole bag one big compartment. On the very bottom exterior of the pack, Cordura nylon is used as a genius bolstering of a common wear area of packs - the spot where you set it down. We know, genius. Unzip the small exterior pocket, and you'll find a built-in rain cover so you'll never forget it when Mountain Weather™ does its thing. It has hide-away elastic loops for any other items you want to attach to the bottom of the pack, such as a sleeping mat or extra firewood. As if that wasn't enough, there's still normal webbing straps on the bottom for extras.

But all of that means nothing without a good harness, right? Good news: This one rocks. The easily (and obviously) adjustable harness with letter sizes to guide you on where it should be is ultra-ergonomic, padded just right, and envelops you in a hug that everyone with a splash of tism will be instantly calmed by (May also be a side effect of wearing all your favorite cool gear and going outside. We're not psychologists.) The kidney straps feature pockets for your phone, GPS/Chronograph, and other small stuff you might want to whip out in a pinch. 

It really is the full package. We were so impressed that several warehouse gremlins yoinked one before we listed the rest on the site because of how good of a deal it is & the fact that it's not screaming at you with funyuns yellow or "LOOK AT ME I HIKE" blue.
