Lets face it — when it comes to wind and water resistance, Gore-Tex is the good stuff. It doesn't come around often and we have limited stock of it.
We're not talking about your typical surplus pants, Think more like Arc'Teryx LEAF but about 90% off. We love Austrian surplus; especially when they make it with Gore-Tex. And it's not hard to see why.
The Austrian Bundesheer has famously high standards for their gear. In the punishing climate of the Alps, they need some of the best damn clothing in the world to adapt to it's conditions. Wet or windy, these pants can take it.
The Gore-Tex pants have zippers going down the entire side seam to expand and contract if you're layering a lot of gear or need to don the pants without taking your boots off. Additionally, the zipper allows for pass-through near the top to get at underlayer pockets. They also feature integrated adjustable suspenders, a drawstring waist, an interior zippered mesh pocket, zippered fly, and everything has a storm flap to keep every molecule of air and water possible out of your pants.

Badass piece of gear!
Ordered these on a whim and I’ve been thoroughly impressed. As the KommandoStore description states, these are basically the quality of brands 3x the price. Have worn them out in the sticks a few times this winter and they buck the wind decently and keep you dry. Great buy, KommandoStore just keeps killing it bringing in stuff like this.

Windbreaker for your knees
Admittedly not what i expected but turned out to be a very useful piece of kit. Is essentially a rainproof windbreaker you would pair with something warm underneath. If you have waterproof bottoms than this piece of kit is redundant. Wide on the waist but thats to give you room to wear more, and can be cinched tight.
Light and very packable, and pairs really well with the goretex M65 Austrian parka. Id recommend this paired with the parka liner and goretex parka for the full effect.

Best Buy on KommandoStore
“Think more like Arc'Teryx LEAF” literally couldn’t be more accurate. Immaculate quality on the pair I received. Absolutely buy these.
A crack in one of the channels of the plastic bridge that links the suspenders together is the only defect anywhere on these. A vestigial component as I cross my suspenders anyway. Other than that, I would have assumed these were unissued.
Of note to other buyers:
-The color is a bit closer to OD than the US Army foliage green-ish color shown in the gallery photos (I was pleased about this). The color is very close to Kuiu’s “Phantom” green color in their packs.
-There is an interior storm flap on the lower 3/4 of the legs that connects to both sides, so you do have to shimmy your boots down, but there is more than enough room. The storm flap is Gore-Tex as well!
