It’s been a while since the last update. No, Ivan did not get locked up in the gulag, we've just been very busy and are happy to report the hard work has paid off.

The entire run of the camo fabric has been completed, and construction of the suits started quite recently.

The Modern Warfare 2 Spetsnaz Camo Gorka is officially in production.

With the current production schedule, we are aiming for a pre-sale on Black Friday, and if there are no delays (always expect delays), fulfilment before the end of the year.

While the suits get assembled, let’s start the DSM download on some of our accompanying items. Starting with something that your Spetsnaz invader kit wouldn’t be complete without — the correct unit patches.

The Patches

Just like the camo, these patches started with game rips and screenshots. Unlike the camo, there were way more finer details involved, and 2009-era graphics were not forgiving. In fact they were quite literally illegible.

Why? Because they didn’t expect gamers to be zooming in this far between exchanges of lead. Nonetheless, the 7th Gen consoles it was released on ran the game at a native resolution of a whopping 1024 x 600p with 2x MSAA, regardless of the monitor you used. Back in the day, we called that “Full HD”.

Bottom line, we had a lot of borderline-detective work to do in order to fill in what was intended to be there. Everything was employed to figure this out. Reverse-engineering what the devs might have based the designs on, what motifs symbols Russia uses for their morale gear, the textures of MW2 Remastered 2020 wherein they removed some of the patches from the 09 game, and filling in the spaces from there based on the theoretical invasion from MW2’s story.

With a bit of research, and a lot of help from James (our customer service gigachad, knowledgeable in Russian obscura, who was instrumental for a significant amount of information), we are really happy with the end result and can’t wait to share it with you and tell you guys all about the design choices.

Helmet Covers

To ensure that anyone can fully kit up as accurately as possible to the game, you’re going to need some helmet covers to go with our Gorka and patches. With the launch of the suits, we are planning to offer two types of helmet covers.

First, a cover that best matches the ones used in game for PASGT and ACH type helmets. Yes, they are wearing US helmets, we know. They also deploy with P90s and UMP-45s. The rule of cool always helps out suspension of belief. And the aforementioned helmets are more readily available on the market for you anyways.

Speaking of the rule of cool, our second helmet cover will be for high-cut FAST style helmets. If your neck can’t put up with GWOT era helmets, or you want to integrate the camo with a more modern kit, we have your noggin covered.
